In the year 1967 to 1970 Sawyer worked for WLKY-TV, and from 1970 to 1974 she worked as a White House press aide.
Sawyer become a co-anchor of CBS Morning News in 1981 and became a correspondent for 60 minutes in 1984. After years with 60 minutes, Sawyer moved from the CBS network to ABC, she has co-anchored Primetime Live, Good Morning America, and 20/20. Sawyer was the first female correspondent of 60 minutes in history. Sawyer has been a trailblazer for female Journalists and one of the most recognized.
