Irene most recently worked as a reporter for WFMZ-TV in Allentown, Berks County, and Philadelphia. She covered a number of national topics there, including the search for a missing Amish teenager and the scandal over an Allentown police officer who was caught kneeling on a man’s head, as well as the subsequent Black Lives Matter protests.
Interviewing a 98-year-old Girl Scout and traveling to New York City to witness a WWII veteran get the Legion of Honor Award were two of her favorite stories at the station.
