Monahan has had quite an impressive career. He spent ten great years on California’s Central Coast reporting and anchoring for the local Fox affiliate and for the CBS station. He used that expertise to become a communications consultant and coach using his experience to show CEOs, business leaders, and mid-level managers how to communicate complex issues in simple terms. However, the variety, creativity, and ability to cover some of the biggest stories in Boston and the country for the news lured him back to television. John’s happy to hang his hat once again at his former TV home of Fox 25. Monahan has interviewed thousands of business leaders, politicians, sports figures, celebrities, and newsmakers in his more than 17 years in the news business.
John most recently reported for FOX25 News in Boston. During that time he covered the presidential debates, the Wakefield shootings, and the aftermath of the 9/11 tragedy. He was on an assignment the night ‘Shoe Bomber’ Richard Reid attempted to blow up an American Airlines flight which was later diverted to Boston’s Logan airport. Before coming to work in Boston, Monahan spent two years as Bureau Chief for the CBS affiliate in Monterey, California. In all, he spent 9 years in California as a weekend anchor/reporter and later primary anchor for the FOX affiliate in Salinas, California.
