He is a 20-year veteran at ABC12 News with more than 30 years of experience as both a meteorologist and reporter. Growing up in the Detroit area, Kevin always wondered at Michigan’s ever-changing weather and four seasons.
He used to call up the time and temperature number and write down the current conditions whenever a winter storm approached. He watched a lot of local news and weather growing up and followed the likes of Jerry Hodak and Sonny Elliot. While at Western Michigan University pursuing his biomedical science degree, he was bitten by the weather bug once again, taking a general meteorology course. That led to a student weather lab position, as well as running the weather station, which included posting DIFAX maps that rolled off a drum of chemically treated paper.
In addition, Kevin traveled all over the country, working at TV stations in Texas, Nebraska, Georgis, and Iowa, before finally returning to Michigan and ABC12 in the spring of 2000.
