The University of Southern California’s Center for Health Journalism has appointed him a National Health Journalism Fellow for 2020. Nathan made a news documentary about the inequities in the Navajo Nation during the COVID-19 outbreak while he was in New Mexico. A Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion was given to him for his reporting. His investigations also uncovered systemic shortcomings inside New Mexico’s police oversight agency, prompting ongoing efforts to change the way the agency conducts police misconduct investigations.
Nathan also reported for KSNV in Las Vegas, Nevada.
