Shuman has had quite an impressive career. He is an investigative reporter for the “Fox 11 Investigates ” unit as well as a substitute anchor for Fox 11 News at Ten. He attended Williams College in Massachusetts and graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Economics. He had his first job as a reporter, anchor, and sportscaster at KFDX in Wichita Falls, Texas, an NBC affiliate, before moving on to KWTV, the CBS station in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. There, he worked until he moved to Los Angeles and KNBC.
He traveled the world as an LA-based news correspondent for the nationally syndicated magazine show EXTRA. Before that, he was with Channel 4 News in Los Angeles, for 13 years as part of KNBC-TV’s top-rated 11 p.m. The Channel 4 News ‘Nightside’ newscast, and was an NBC Network News contributor.
Phil covered some of the biggest stories in Southern California and the country such as the OJ Simpson case, Michael Jackson’s death, the Rodney King beating, the LA riots, the Conrad Murray Trial, JFK Jr’s plane crash, the Andrew Cunanan murders, fires, earthquakes, Emmys, Oscars, the Olympics the World Series the NBA Championships — the list goes on and on.
