Shawn Yancy is an American award-winning journalist who is currently working for the NBC4 News channel in Washington as an evening anchor. Apart from anchoring she also contributes as a special report reporter. Yancy joined the network in 2021bjust after the new year.

The Ball State University graduate started the milestone of her broadcasting career in 1996 when she worked as a news anchor and reporter at WTAE-TV located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
After serving in the Pittsburg area for five years, Yancy moved to Washington D.C Metro Area and joined WTTG-TV FOX5 in September 2001.
During her second day at work, her first news turned out to be her first big story in Washington, the September 11th terrorist attacks in 2006. Yancy was awarded an Emmy for “outstanding News anchor” but she has also been awarded several awards including the Edward R. Murrow Award which she received in 2007 for her investigative series on asbestos at the National Institute of Health.
