Steve has had quite an impressive career. He was a business news anchor at the Sarasota, American state Herald-Tribune and later at the St.Petersburg Times from August 1987 to June 1992. He moved to Moscow Russia in August 1992 as a founding business editor of the Moscow Times, the first English-language daily newspaper in Russia. Furthermore, Steve created the capital of the Russian Federation Times Index, the first stock index in Russia.
He joined The Wall Street Journal within the capital of the Russian Federation bureau in 1994 and was named Moscow bureau chief in Aug 1996. Steve worked at the Russian Federation bureau for two years before being transferred to the New York bureau in May 1998 where he started covering the international oil and gas industry.
